Commissions - My Process and Pricing

Landscapes

When commissioned to paint a landscape, I prefer to go and see the view myself and take my own photos. If that is not possible, I can work from photos sent to me. I then typically spend about three months working on the painting.  Oil painting is a lengthy process that includes many sessions and drying time between sessions. As I work, I am happy to send photos of my progress and get the client’s feedback, with the goal that the client is thrilled with the final piece.  I typically paint on canvases around 36 inches but am open to larger and smaller dimensions.

I charge $1000 – $2500 depending on the size and complexity of the painting.

Pet Portraits

Similar to my landscape process, I prefer to meet your pet and take my own photos, though I can work from your high-quality photos if necessary. Portraits take two to three months to complete. I will send pictures of my progress to the client and welcome any feedback, with the goal of capturing the pet’s likeness and personality,

Typical paintings are 20 to 30 inches, though I can paint larger or smaller upon request. I can paint multiple pets in one canvas or diptychs.

Pricing starts at $600, more for multiple pets.

Commission prices do not include shipping.

All paintings are delivered with a simple wooden frame.
